This part cornrow, part twisted hairstyle can work for any occasion. With added bows or accessories this can look awesome for special occasions, however left as it is, it can make a great casual or school style for your child.
I wanted to try an alternate style to the common two cornrows (side to side) that is normally done on kids hair as a quick night time or very casual hairstyle. And even with that in mind that very common cornrow style can be made to look exquisite when the time calls for it.
So with that style in mind, I decided to do an upgrade (if I may call it that) to the hairstyle. It does take a little bit more time, but it is still fairly simple to accomplish. I have used elastic band to catch the hair, however this is not what I always do. Normally I use black hairbands, but I had run low and did not have enough.
TIP:-Please be very careful when using elastic bands, as the removal of it (if not done with care) can damage hair.
-Use hairbands where possible, especially with kids having fine or woolly hair-strands.
Once again the twisted finish gives it a slightly more elegant look, however this is personal preference as mentioned in my other posts (please feel free to browse through them). But i’m sure it can look just as great if a plaited look is preferred as a finish, and may compliment the small cornrows added for effect. The contrast of cornrow and twists however,
does work very well as is demonstrated with this hairstyle.
Overall, I think it looks great and I hope you enjoy this style on your child.
